The curious case of R Madhavan !!

I stumbled upon this article which features the story of an IITian who went on to become a successful farmer. He did not appear on time magazine's cover, he was not included in the 'forbes' list of most influential people', nor did he grab headlines in any of the major newspapers of the world, he is not the conventional successful person our society reveres. Because he is an unlikely hero, someone your parents wouldnt like you to emulate.

His story is a must read for :-
For every man who wishes to follow his passion, but faces innumerable obstacles in his path.
For every man who wants to do something for भारत माता.
For every man who places a premium on happiness over money.
For every man who is undeterred by societal norms, and unfazed by the so called 'trends' and 'modern way of life'.
For every man who belives this story is not an exceptional case, but a snapshot of a realistic society that we can build and we must build for our nation.

For every such man, the following story is a must read :-

His story was featured on rediff because he was 'off beat' and according to rediff, the so called 'off beat' trend is in !! Now, the media and subsequently the people it influences, will start worshipping those who are doing offbeat stuff. The message of Mr.Madhavan will be lost in oblivion. I am not getting into another tirade against the media, they will always pander to the low desires of society.. So forget about the media, but we as a people need to seriously introspect what we are doing, we need to re-examine our way of life. We need to look for a deeper purpose of life, rather than being driven by the relentless craving for materialistic pleasure.
Like Mr.Madhavan said " Working for money and working for happiness are different. I work and get happiness".
Everybody does not have a true 'non-materialist' passion, everybody does not have a unique talent, but lets try to create a society that is fair to those who do have one.
